Harbor Master and Deputy Harbor Master
The Town of Boothbay Harbor is seeking applications for two positions, Harbor Master and Deputy Harbor Master. Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or GED, have a marine oriented background and an understanding of law enforcement issues. Applicants are required to have excellent public relations skills, strong work ethics, and the ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions. Harbor Master training provided. The Harbor Master reviews and approves mooring applications and assists in maintaining a mooring database as well as attends Port Committee meetings, prepares budgets and interacts with Selectmen when necessary. Also, “rules of the road” knowledge required. The Deputy Harbor Master primarily fills the hours the Harbor Master is not available and operates the pump out boat. Both of these are part-time positions where the majority of hours worked are between mid May and mid October. Compensation will be discussed with finalists.
