Full-Time Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer Position

Town of Boothbay Harbor

 

 The Town of Boothbay Harbor is seeking applications for the Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer position in the public works department. The position includes, but is not limited to, operating excavators, loaders, and snow removal equipment, as well as various tools used in maintaining the town roads and town property.  Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.  The successful candidate will have no accidents or moving violation convictions for the preceding three years and have a valid Class B driver's license or can obtain one within six months of employment. Applicants should have a working knowledge of equipment and vehicles used in the performance of the duties, a demonstrated ability to follow directions, and work independently with contractors, municipal employees, and the general public.  Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test, be willing to work beyond normal hours, and be available to be on-call, responding within 30 minutes on a rotating basis or during storms.

 This is a full-time position. Compensation and benefits will be discussed with finalists.
